Originally marketed exclusively as a high-end runner, adidas‘ UltraBOOST quickly found favor in the lifestyle sphere as well, an unintentional-but-welcomed crossover that the Three Stripes has nodded to with the UltraBOOST S&L. A hybrid design that retains the original UB’s speedy shape but adds casual wear-geared materials like suede and leather, the S&L has released in a handful of colorways — the latest of which is this elegant “Light Granite.”
Supple gray suede mudguards and heel clips sit atop a light gray base that’s made of two meshes: tighly woven in the forefoot, jersey-style on the throat and heel. Special details don’t stop there though, with the midfoot cage trading out its standard TPU construction in favor of a suede build equipped with leather stripes. Meanwhile, a dark steel gray BOOST midsole and black Continental rubber outsole combine down below to complete the visible part of the look. That’s not all, however. A touch of concealed vibrance is also present thanks to bright orange insoles.
The adidas UltraBOOST S&L “Light Granite” is available now at retailers like Sneakersnstuff with an MSRP of $180 USD.
