A Madison family says their missing son’s remains have been found in Slovenia.

Allan Luskin confirms to 27 News his son, Jon’s remains were found on Christmas Eve. Slovenian police tell them Jon’s backpack and passport were found nearby. A DNA test proved it was Jon.

Jonathan Luskin went missing in June while vacationing in Slovenia. He told his parents would be hiking in the Triglav National Park, so that’s where authorities had been searching for him. But his remains were found about 20 miles outside of Ljubljana, about 20 miles from where they were looking.

Allan Luskin says an autopsy will be done January 3 to determine how Jon died. Police do not suspect foul play.
