Walmart to pay $65 mn to settle lawsuit over seating for cashiers


Walmart Inc has agreed to pay $65 million to almost 100,000 present and former cashiers in California who accused the retailer of violating state legislation by refusing to offer them with seating whereas they labored.

Walmart denied any wrongdoing within the nine-year-old case, which was scheduled to go to trial later this 12 months, in a submitting in federal courtroom in San Francisco on Wednesday. The settlement should be authorized by a federal choose.
