Ex-youth soccer coach charged with sexually abusing baby in Massachusetts


NORWELL, Mass. — A former youth soccer coach accused of filming himself sexually abusing a baby has been charged in Boston federal courtroom.

Prosecutors say 48-year-old Derek Sheehan, of Norwell, is in state custody and faces three federal counts of sexual exploitation of kids in addition to associated state costs.

Prosecutors say police in August seized digital gadgets from Sheehan’s residence that contained hours of video footage of Sheehan sexually abusing a baby who seemed to be asleep at Sheehan’s residence.

Authorities say the assaults occurred over a number of days and that the kid was 11-and-12-years-old on the time.

Sheehan beforehand coached Norwell youth soccer. His lawyer didn’t instantly remark.

The Patriot Ledger reviews Norwell police started wanting into Sheehan in June after a baby reported he assaulted them in one other city final August.
